Waking up too early

Ever since I quit my job, I've had very little reason to wake up early, so I end up sleeping way too long. One day this last week, I had slept in really late for a couple days, and it finally caught up with me. I couldn't sleep at all one night. I laid in bed, really lightly drowsing, waking up every few hours, and finally fell into a fragile sleep. At 3:00 am, Conrad got up to go to the bathroom and turned on the light. It jolted me out of my shallow sleep. He turned off the light and got back in bed, but I couldn't fall asleep. I laid there for 30 or so minutes, waiting for another weak slumber to take me away, but it didn't come. So I got up and interneted (new word!) for a couple hours. At about 5, I hopped back into bed to warm up. Our house is freezing in the morning because our sliding glass doors aren't sealed, so it's practically like leaving them open.  I still didn't fall asleep, so I snuggled Conrad until his alarm went off at 5:30. Once it did, I jumped out of bed, grateful that I didn't have to lay there bored anymore. While he was getting ready, I made a batch of crepes. A rather small batch. That I had to share. So Conrad ate them, happy to actually have a prepared breakfast for once. Once he left for work, I made another batch. And ate them all. So classy.

Our favorite way to eat crepes is with applesauce and powdered sugar. It's also amazing with jam, nutella, fruit, lemon juice, ham and swiss, or pretty much with anything else in the whole world. You could wrap a shoe in a crepe and I would eat it. Here's our fave crepe recipe.

  1. Looks delicious. My fiancè enjoys crepes too.
Followed. Hope you don't mind. And maybe you'll stop by me someday.

  2. Its tough when your schedule gets thrown off. When I start a new semester, I always have trouble sleeping mainly because I have spent the break sleeping in till noon and staying up till 2am. Thanks for sharing the crepe recipe!
