BABY BOOK - SMASH BOOK!

Ever since I saw the cluttered glory that is a smash book on Pinterest, I've wanted to make one. I'm not much for scrapbooking just because, so when I started thinking about it, I realize I actually have the perfect reason to create one: I'm having a baby and I can do whatever I want!

I decided to make a baby book that documents my journey through pregnancy, baby showers, and all things baby. And then I went a step further and decided to make it Smash-style. Check it out!

I found my Smash book at Michael's on clearance, which was the only reason I bought it. I had originally intended to make my own book, but finding one for $5 was cheaper than buying a blank book and all the paper and doing it myself. If you can find one on sale, grab it! Or buy a starter kit on amazon! It's cheaper than buying all the supplies in a store.

I documented each week of pregnancy (generally on one page), each doctor's appointment and sonogram, our first Mother's and Father's Days, my baby showers, and more! I wrote letters to the baby, letters to Conrad, printed out my blog posts (the weekly pregnancy updates), talked about nesting, emotions, and other milestones.

I passed around the incomplete book at my first baby shower on Saturday, and everyone loved it! I even used it to write down all the guests and the gifts they brought, as well as if they've been sent a thank-you note. Way to stay organized! I thought it would be fun to have it written down so I can remember who came to celebrate with us and who gave us what.

Hope you enjoy, and I hope you give smashing a try!

  1. How cute! I periodically Smash stuff. This makes me want to get right back in it. I'm not crafty so I love that it's pretty much started for you and you don't have to do much to make it cool.
