ART JOURNALING

Lately, I've gotten into creative journaling, or art journaling (you may remember from my Baby Book Smash Book).

With the looming arrival of our baby (any day now!), I've also gotten into setting goals for myself. One tends to do that when one faces a major life change.

So I decided to combine my urge to plan with my urge to do creative journals, and I came up with mind-mapping my goals. I made four separate mind maps in one day. It was totally fun because it's drawing, writing, journaling, and planning all in one! It's also a really good brain exercise - something this mama needs.

You can get really creative with your themes. Mine were primarily goal setting (though I also did one that was kind of a "favorites of the seasons" theme), but you could also use these to help you plan for your blog, write stories, name the good traits in people, or any other thing you can think of! Then, once you've mapped everything out, you can color, play with fonts and designs, and even draw. It's also a fun way to pass the time while you're sitting in your doctor's waiting room.
